Frequently Asked Questions about Birth & Breastfeeding Classes

Who should take a birth or breastfeeding class?

Parents who are expecting the birth of a newborn are welcome to join Birthing With Confidence and Breastfeeding With Confidence. These classes are geared toward first time parents with little to know base knowledge of birth and breastfeeding, although they can be great refreshers for second/third time parents as well. I highly encourage the mother and birth partner take the class together.

When should I take my birth and breastfeeding classes?

I recommend scheduling your birth and breastfeeding class for the late second trimester or early third trimester although all are welcome. Ideally you should take the class early enough to be able to utilize the information when creating your birth and postpartum plan and creating your Baby Shower registry. However, if you're a procrastinator and squeezing it in last minute, that's okay too!

Are classes eligible for insurance reimbursement? How does that work?

I do not bill insurance companies directly, so all clients must pre-pay for their class. However, I will provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is the client's responsibility to verify reimbursement procedures and coverage.

What should I expect when I sign up for a class?

A few days before your class you will receive a welcome email with all the important information for your class. This email will usually have a pre-class survey and PDF documents attached that will be helpful during the class. Completing the pre-class survey is very important so that I can be sure to focus conversation toward the topics attendants feel are most important.

What if I can't attend the class after I registered?

If you unexpectedly can not attend the class it's okay! Please email me ahead of time if you can so that we aren't waiting for you to join. Classes are recorded so you will have access to the replay within 72 hours of the class.

What is your refund policy?

Virtual classes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Can I buy a class as a baby shower gift?

You can buy class access as a baby shower gift. Please contact me directly to discuss this: jaimiezaki@littlebearlactation.com

Why are your classes only virtual?

Virtual classes give me the ability to lower class costs and keep fees low for clients. Additionally, it allows for more flexibility for working parents to not have to factor "drive time" into their busy schedule.

What if I have more questions that were not covered in the class?

All classes will have plenty of time to ask questions, however sometimes parents feel uncomfortable asking certain questions publicly or they require further discussion and investigation into medical history. If you would like to discuss a topic further you are welcome to email me and we will can schedule a 1:1 call.

Classes take place online and are based in Wichita Falls, Texas. If you are local to Wichita Falls and need further support, Jaimie is available for in person breastfeeding support visits.
