Why I care...

​

My breastfeeding journey started out with many challenges that left me feeling defeated and lost. 

​

Doctors told me to just give up already. 

​

Lactation consultants told me there wasn't a problem and made me feel crazy. 

​

Family was struggling to support me because they didn't want to watch me suffer anymore. 

​

But then I found an amazing support group that validated my experiences and connected me with resources that would actually help. 

​

Around 5 weeks postpartum, I drove 8 hours with my mom to a provider who had an amazing reputation for supporting breastfeeding, confirmed my suspicions, and helped us take the necessary steps to reach our goals. And we did. I nursed him for over 18 months!  

​

When my son turned 1, I was eligible to begin training as a La Leche League Leader. On Christmas Eve 2016, pregnant with my second son, I was accredited as a La Leche League Leader. 

Shortly after, I began my training to become a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist with Lactation Education Resources. I offered support through volunteer and private practice roles until December 2019 when I certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. 

I have been teaching mothers how to prepare for breastfeeding, reach their goals, and understand their babies since 2016. 

I have breastfed my own babies for a cumulative total of 50 months (that's over four years worth of breastfeeding!)

I've helped mothers prepare for and overcome breastfeeding challenges:
