Confident Moms Birth Plan Workshop

Updated: Aug 20, 2020

Hey! I'm Jaimie and during the Confident Moms Birth Plan Workshop, I'm going to teach you how to write a birth plan that ACTUALLY helps you have a more positive birth experience. This workshop first aired in my private Confident Mama Bears facebook group and now it's accessible to you too! Before you start, grab your free birth plan workbook so you can work along with the course!

Day 1 - Destigmatizing Birth Plans

"We're going to start out with de-stigmatizing the birth plan, and then we're going to learn how to get into making decisions using your BRAIN tomorrow. The next day, we're going to learn about the different options that we have when we're making a birth plan. And on the last day, we are going to learn about how to structure your birth plan and organize your birth plan."

Day 2 - Using your BRAIN

So today we're going to talk about how to make decisions in birth. So one concern that I hear a lot from moms is that they feel very unprepared to discuss options with their provider because they're unsure of which questions to ask. Um, a lot of things that I hear from parents, um, after their baby is born is like, wow, I didn't even know to ask about that, or I didn't even think to ask about that. So, um, I want to give you a few tools today so that you can ask the questions. You know, a lot of times we trust our provider who has been through years of schooling and practical experience to teach us everything we know about birth and everything we need to know. But the reality is that unfortunately providers end up in a routine and rarely personalized care, even the best providers who do personalize care, don't always have the continuity of care because they might work in a large practice where you don't get to see them all the time. Even when we've got a small practice providers, don't always have the time to teach you everything that you need to know. And this is why it is so imperative for mothers to be strong self advocates, like really strong self advocates.

Day 3 - Choices

So today we're going to talk about how to make decisions in birth. ...We talked yesterday about making decisions in birth. And today we're going to talk about your options. So this course is not intended for you to have a completed birth plan by the end, that just would take way too much time going through every single option in detail takes hours upon hours upon hours. And it's something that you really do need to do, and that I'm happy to help you with, but we just don't have time to do it within the confines of this program. But what I do want to talk to you about is I have the most common interventions listed ... in the birth plan workbook

Day 4 - Organizing your birth plan

I wanted to welcome you to our last day of the confident moms birth plan workshop. And I'm glad you're joining me today. If you guys have looked through your birth plan workbook by now, you can see that it's divided into labor stages. It's really important to understand the stages of labor when you're making your birth plan.
